This is every gig, I know of, and if anyone has any comments or extra gigs I've missed, please tell me, so I can correct it all. someone might want to sticky this, good information. comments from Nick are in italics.

--- 13/11 Manchester - Manchester's Night & Day Club w/ Decemberists
--- 12/11 London - Camden Barfly ("The following night things went from bad to dismal. The Camden Barfly was the venue and a substitute keyboard the culprit. For all intents and purposes it might as well of been dead also. The gig consisted mainly of Nick displaying his extraordinary phatic abilities while Alden franticly fiddled with the Casio. After four songs and a lot of ‘in between time’ the three marched off. Heartbreaking.")
--- 11/11 Picadilly Circus - VICE Party ("an unmitigated disaster for all concerned...Lost in the middle of this melee were The Unicorns who had the unfortunate task of opening the night’s festivities. Of course no one paid them the slightest bit of attention, their Keyboard died and they were later chased off by security." - http://www.joyzine.co.uk/uni.htm)

MON 6/21 PITTSBURGH, PA - Rex Theatre, w/ Arcade Fire
SAT 6/19 MILWAUKEE, WI - Mad Planet (2 shows) w/ Arcade Fire The early show was a bit of a bummer, but the late show was surreal. A door led from the street to the back of the stage, and at one point Max Groadie stumbled onto the stage from that door with a guitar and attempted to play SMOKE ON THE WATER through a cigarette amplifier. Meanwhile, some tricked out Daddy-o on the street noticed something interesting was going on through the door, so he opened it only to have Jaime usher him to the front of the stage where he playd bashful for lie 5 seconds and then let loose this rapid-fire spanish raunch-rap that was actually really really good. He could spit! We kicked into hip-hop mode and those in attendance practically swung their shirts and panties on his face. After he finished, he just left through the same door and that was the last we saw from him!
FRI 6/18 CHICAGO, IL - Open End Gallery (all ages) w/ Arcade Fire
THU 6/17 ST LOUIS, MO - Rocket Bar (18+) w/ Arcade Fire Eschewing our usual "bit" where we play our songs as they appear on the album, We did our songs in the styles of specific genres (i.e. Inoculate the Innocuous- REGGAE, Sea Ghost- RAP, Tuff Ghost- MONSTER MASH-style) Our encore was a photoshoot with a Christmas Tree posterboard and a crazy idiot from the audience shouting seasonal slogans at slack-jawed gawkers.
WED 6/16 OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - The Conservatory w/ Arcade Fire
TUE 6/15 DENTON, TX - Hailey's w/ Arcade Fire
MON 6/14 AUSTIN, TX - Emo's (outside) w/ Arcade Fire. There was really something electric going on that night. Maybe it was the amplifiers.

THU 6/10 BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Nick w/ Arcade Fire

SAT 3/20 AUSTIN, TX - SXSW - Fader Event (6pm) late friday night, flying into Dallas, TX, then whisked away to Austin where we were scheduled to play the next day (not to mention all days prior). Austin was fun in a sleazy kind of way. Got to see our friends Nardwuar, Dose One, Why?, Buck65, and Pet-tricks after getting outfitted in free jeans and new shoes, then playing a party with Trans Am, and Johnny Knoxville. We did an interview with the BBC, Our sound tech saw Aesop Rock, Gavin Mcinnes was trying to kiss our ass (we wouldn't have it) and Nick swears he made David Cross laugh. That evening we played a show to make up for our lost showcase show. Things seemed blurry- it was kind of a blurry event.

I believed they played with Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Blood Brothers on the 16th November 2004 at the London Forum.

I remember this well because I bought tickets for the first YYYs night and "due to demand" they added a second date, which was this. I got to see the fucking Bravery support and missed out on the Unicorns. Then they split and I didn't get to see them live.

I'm not bitter though.

i saw them every time (twice) they came to colorado. how cool!
where did you get nicks comments? i wish he had commented on the first show i saw of theirs (im sure we all wish he commented on our show), at rock island in denver, where he climbed up the cage in back and the opening act, magic cyclops, gave him a drunken piggy back ride back to the stage but collapsed on his face half way there. nick did an army crawl back to the stage, and magic cyclops didnt move, so the security had to come get him.

but, i think it might have all been a big set up.. either nick or magic cyclops had ketchup packets in their pockets.

Don't tease me :(
Their gigs sound amazing. What was so disasterous about their last show (apart from the fact it was their last)?

Yeah, there's even a bootleg of one those shows where they're supporting the decemberists.

Also the name of the venue of the final show was the engine room.

The last show was disasterous for a number of reasons, I assume. As you can see from the list they toured pretty extensively throughout 2004, so I'm sure you could imagine them being a little more than burnt out with performing and/or each other. Combine this with fact that a surpising number of assholes were in attendence that night and well, I don't know, it was pretty sad. People kept yelling stupid shit the WHOLE time, and I'm pretty sure that one guy got kicked out for calling them "dickless cunts". Nick kept making allusions to it being their last show so that didn't really make people feel any better, plus they had these three pretty annoying dancers on stage nearly the whole time. By the end Nick was drunk and everyone was crying. Almost everybody left at the end except for I guess the people that were hoping for an encore and they did come back out, eventually, to play "I was born (a unicorn)" and then Nick was like fake stage diving for like 5 minutes so when he did finally jump off the stage I don't really think anyone cared so he kind of just fell on the ground. The crowd he was jumping into was pretty small anyway and he was drunk so, I couldn't really see that ending very well.

i have a friend who was there, and apparently it was at a bar or something. she said that a lot of the people there were there to drink, not listen to the unicorns. so, they kept yelling at them to get off the stage, and heckling them and stuff.
then, they apparently had a couple bottles of wine and got really drunk or something. except, my friend said that it wasnt a happy drunk, they were just really pissed off.

so, i dont really know, this is what my friend told me, but maybe she was wrong. i bet fuck could answer you better.

I think people ignore me or something.

Location: im just walking around; your city is a wonder town.
yeah, everyone seems to agree on the unicorns playing november shows. anyone got the exact dates and who they were supporting?

I'm finding it difficult to tell sometimes, because over here in australia, and i think maybe in the uk too, our system goes day / month / year whereas you yanks go month / day / year.

which is fucking stupid. so I'd like to know about that too.
