This comes from the Wikipedia Islands article, and according to the History, it was added there by Mr. Alex Batko, and as such, I am treating it as a reliable source.

EDIT: Pitchfork has now backed this tracklisting up, with word from Diamonds himself: http://pitchforkmedia.com/news/05-11/14.shtml#islands

Quote:
1. Swans (Life After Death)
2. Humans
3. Don't Call Me Whitney, Bobby
4. Rough Gem
5. Tsuxiit
6. Where There's A Will There's A Whalebone
7. Jogging Gorgeous Summer
8. Volcanoes
9. If
10. Ones

Not such exciting news, but cool anyway. Interesting, the lack of "Abomidable Snow", "Flesh", and "Bucky Little Wing". "Bucky" was never such a stand out track anyway, I guess, and may well end up as a B-Side or something, who knows, but the other two had serious potential to be great on their own. Anyone who's heard the XFM version of "Abomidable Snow" will probably agree with me.

Discuss!

I would have loved to see "abominable snowman" on there, but having said that, it wouldn't really matter because we have what would have been the album version anyway.. so it would really just be for the prestige of it being on there i guess

I'm really looking forward to "where theres a will" and "humans" in particular.. they're the ones that have stood out on the bootlegs i guess... hopefully the studio recordings of the other familiar names will show them in a better light :|

yeah, i also think it will be really neat to see how swans comes out (though, i wasnt that into humans)
also, just judging from what i know from the bootlegs, it doesnt look like this album is going to be as coherent as wwcohwwg. the tracks dont seem like they are going to meld that much
does anyone know if busdriver, subtitle and the violinists are gonna be in it? or is that just a tour thing?

From the studio version of whalebone I can tell you it's very true to the live versions. Just a lot clearer.

I can't really imagine Where there's a Will without Subtitle and Busdriver. It wouldn't be a very long song anyway! I feel pretty confident there will be violin and probably a lot of other things as it seems that there was a lot collaboration with other musicians for this album.

Swans seems like a live jam song. I'm also interested to see how they interpret it for the album.

The lack of Abominable Snowman and Flesh shouldn't really be a surprise as the former was really a Unicorns song and Flesh could be classified as a Th' Corn Gangg song since they're the only ones ever to perform it. I wonder why they were even posted online as Islands songs.

it seems odd that the live versions would be anything like the studio versions, in one of his interviews nick was talking about how live versions of songs should be vastly different than what you hear on a record

does anyone else find it weird that 'swans' is the first track?

it seems like such a jam song that it would have to be a closer. and plus, i think it's been at the end of every one of their shows. interesting.
