I don't watch much television, but I saw this programme a few nights ago, and it was about this Indian man who looked as though he was 6 months pregnant.

Image

He got to 36 years, and the pain started to get too much and so he went to be checked out. Initially they thought that he had some huge stomach cancer, and so started to operate..........

.....they pulled out a deformed mass.

His mother was due to have twins, but it went unnoticed, and in the mothers womb, his embryo formed around the other embryo, and it grew inside him. It lived like a parasite, feeding off of him and living inside. When the parasite was taken out it had nails and limbs.

Really really grim.

my doctor friend was telling me about a certain type of cancer, most often found in the ovaries -- it's a cancer of something like stem cells, which means when the cells go crazy and multiply, they turn into different kinds of tissue and body parts...

...some of the resultant tumors have hair and teeth

Quote:
"To my surprise and horror, I could shake hands with somebody inside," he said. "It was a bit shocking for me."

Quote:
"He just put his hand inside and he said there are a lot of bones inside," she said. "First, one limb came out, then another limb came out. Then some part of genitalia, then some part of hair, some limbs, jaws, limbs, hair."

Inside Bhagat's stomach was a strange, half-formed creature that had feet and hands that were very developed. Its fingernails were quite long.

"We were horrified. We were confused and amazed," Mehta said.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fetus_in_fetu

Quote:
Fetus in fetu (or Foetus in foetu) describes an extremely rare abnormality that involves a fetus getting trapped inside of its twin. It continues to survive as a parasite even past birth by forming an umbilical cord-like structure that leeches its twin's blood supply until it grows so large that it starts to harm the host, at which point doctors usually intervene. Invariably the parasitic fetus is anencephalic (without a brain) and lacks internal organs, and as such is unable to survive on its own, though it may have almost human (albeit underdeveloped and bizarre) features such as limbs, digits, hair, nails and teeth. Fetus in fetu is such a rare condition that only some 91 cases worldwide have ever been reported. Fetus in fetu happens very early in a twin pregnancy, when one fetus wraps around and envelops the other. The dominant fetus grows, while the fetus that would have been its twin lives on throughout the pregnancy, feeding off its host twin like a kind of parasite. Usually, both twins die before birth from the strain of sharing a placenta. Sometimes, however, the host twin survives and is delivered.

I wish I had pictures of the operation. They showed the "creature" that they pulled out, and it had huge fingernails, and looked really alien.

Well this was the show:

http://www.five.tv/programmes/extraordi ... ithintwin/

I'm not sure if you'll be able to find a torrent or anything, but it was from the series "Extraordinary People", which was an excellent series to be honest. A lot of the shows were about the bizarre, but they'd also have shows where you wonder how it is possible. There was one about a 4 year old kid who ran 40 miles for instance!
